Kura Kura Bali - Greenship Neighborhood Plan Certification

We served as the dedicated Green Building Consultant to secure the prestigious Greenship Neighborhood 1.1 Plan (Platinum Rating) for Kura Kura Bali, a 530-hectare Special Economic Zone (KEK) in Denpasar, Bali. While the master plan itself was designed by the project's primary urban planning and architectural teams, we provided the comprehensive sustainability advisory, technical compliance evaluation, and certification management required to achieve a score of 77 points—well above the 69-point Platinum threshold. Guided by the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, our advisory ensured the master plan's balance of residential, hospitality, commercial, and educational districts aligned strictly with international ecological stewardship and climate resilience standards.

Ecological Enhancement & Biodiversity Verification

To meet Greenship criteria, we evaluated and validated the master plan's ecological framework, confirming that it successfully reserves 35.1% of the total area as green open space. This includes validating the conservation of a 27.9-hectare mangrove park within the Tahura Ngurah Rai ecosystem. The advisory team verified that the landscape strategy utilizes an on-site nursery to ensure over 60% of specified flora consists of native species. Additionally, we assessed the biophilic design guidelines to confirm that over 60% of all pedestrian corridors achieve sufficient shading through dense tree canopies, supporting a habitat that has attracted over 105 documented fauna species.

Infrastructure Assessment & Closed-Loop Systems

We audited the development's advanced infrastructure blueprint to ensure total compliance with Greenship's zero-waste principles, water security mandates, and low-carbon mobility targets. The team validated the proposed transport framework, which features a continuous, universally accessible pedestrian network, dedicated cycling tracks, internal electric shuttles, and Kukung (traditional water taxis) operating along reclaimed canals. For water management certification, we verified that 100% of the island's landscape irrigation demand will be satisfied through stormwater harvesting and retention ponds, supported by Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems and a multi-stage Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) network designed for a total capacity of 10,950 m³/day. The advisory scope also included evaluating the integration of solar-powered smart street lighting to offset 60% of the street lighting energy demand.

Community Wellbeing & Cultural Integration

We guided the certification process to ensure the master plan deeply embedded social equity and cultural heritage, particularly regarding its integration with the neighboring Serangan Traditional Village. The team verified the strategic preservation of public access to eight sacred temples (Pura) via dedicated cultural pathways, the implementation of open "no-fence" inter-lot boundaries to foster communal interaction, and the establishment of dedicated zones for local craft and aquaculture.
