RS Persahabatan - Mother and Child Respiratory Building

Since 2015, Dex has continuously supported the 13-hectare RSUP Persahabatan campus development in East Jakarta, starting with a strategic master plan review for the Advanced Respiratory Research Center. In 2018, we prepared the hospital's Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) loan proposal, which included a conceptual campus re-master plan and the initial design for the Mother and Child Respiratory Building.

Extending this partnership into 2020–2021 under PT Penta Architecture, we delivered the preliminary design for the Detailed Engineering Design (DED) of the IsDB-funded Mother and Child facility. Our design for the RSUP Persahabatan Mother & Child Respiratory Building delivers a 253-bed facility encompassing a gross floor area of 33,495 square meters. Spanning seven primary floors and a basement, the project exemplifies sustainable, patient-centric healthcare architecture.

Anchored by a "Green Hospital in the Garden" concept, the facility seamlessly integrates therapeutic landscapes to accelerate patient recovery. For uncompromising safety and infection control, we engineered an innovative double-decker corridor system that effectively isolates infectious patients and medical personnel from general outpatients and visitors. Environmentally, the building optimizes natural cross-ventilation to meet ASHRAE 55-2017 standards and incorporates a rooftop solar array targeting 10% of total energy consumption.

In addition to ongoing Greenship Certification, the completed hospital earned "Green Hospital of the Year in Indonesia" at the Global Health Asia-Pacific Awards 2026 and was recognized for Sustainable Infrastructure in Newsweek's World's Greenest Hospitals 2026 ranking.
